Liverpool defeat by Napoli has been a slap in the face, but sometimes that's not the worst thing that could happen to a team.
Jurgen Klopp's unwanted have coasted during their five Premier League games this season and had forgotten what it felt like to reduce.
So, this is a reminder of what happens in top notch soccer in case you don't take your chances and lose your focus maybe not or whether you are champions of Europe.
From the seasons I've played Liverpool when we started that our defence of the European Cup - 1984-85 and 1981-82 - that I had been thinking'crikey, we're here to be taken ' maybe not'ah, we're the best team in Europe'.
Yes, we've become the greatest the prior May, however this signifies nothing in September.
That's some thing the side of Klopp need to address, plus they have to keep churning out the outcomes. It's a long road back to the year's final in Istanbul.
Tuesday's defeat was the sort of lesson each team requires periodically about the amount you need to stay in to maintain winning matters, and it is far from a disaster that it has arrived in Liverpool's first match of the Champions League campaign, contrary to the best team they will face in Group E.
The Reds didn't work at their standard in attack or defence at the San Paolo Stadium, but that I don't believe this result will affect their progress.
After losing all three of the off group games, last year they only made it to the last 16.
But that was when they'd Paris-St Germain in their group in addition to Napoli. This time around, another opposition is not the same calibre and I simply do not see Liverpool completing under Genk or Salzburg.
That is the biggest reason I see the defeat of Tuesday as merely a minor set-back, because I am completely sure they will qualify.
A 0-0 draw would have been a fantastic outcome for Liverpool, and they had been much less than 10 minutes apart from getting it until things unravelled at the trunk.
I'm far from convinced it was a punishment for Napoli target - the very first time I saw it, I believed it was the correct choice, but the more I find it that the less I agree it should have been granted.
Nevertheless, it was a challenge that is lazy by Andy Robertson on Jose Callejon, that gave the referee the opportunity.
It killed the match entirely After Napoli scored their second goal in injury time, and Virgil van Dijk was accountable for this.
When they are in possession at the back to concede out of a mistake like that is quite unlike Liverpool also Van Dijk.
So two errors cost the negative of Klopp, but I still do not actually think they had been too awful until there at the trunk.
They were playing against a talented Napoli team with a lot of attacking objective, who forced Adrian into creating some good saves - particularly his quit from Dries Mertens just .
But it isn't as when Liverpool struggled defensively for 90 minutes, and I am sure he will believe the largest problem at the night when Klopp investigations it was in the other end of the pitch.
Liverpool saved their most lacklustre attacking operation of this season for the best team they have played so far.
Part of that was down to the resistance; Napoli were rather strong at the back, together with Kalidou Koulibaly striking.
However, Liverpool must have done better if they came ahead, and it was irritating to see the last ball go so often when they did have opportunities.
Mohamed Salah forced one fantastic save from Alex Meret however, if they got into some promising rankings, overall, they were not clinical enough.
If this happens, you're going to be penalized whenever you're currently facing a team as good as Napoli - which is exactly what occurred.
